Laura Haynes, Executive Director
Laura Haynes was promoted to the position of Executive Director in 2024. Prior to her promotion, she served as Administrator for the previous 10 years. Laura has managed both the tax credit request and scholarship application processes, provided client services for partner schools, and served as main contact for applicant families. With her wealth of knowledge and experience, drive for excellence, and ongoing commitment to education, she is well-equipped for this leadership role. Laura received her BA from Brenau University and completed her Nonprofit Manager certificate at the University of North Georgia. Laura is a graduate of Leadership Hall County and currently serves as co-chair for the Christmas Hope ministry. She has spent most of her career working for local non-profit organizations and just prior to coming to PIFS, served as Program Coordinator for WomenSource.
Pay it Forward Scholarship, founded in 2010, is incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia, is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and is recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a qualified student scholarship organization (SSO) under Georgia law.
Pay it Forward Scholarships provides scholarships to Pre-K through 12th grade students attending accredited private schools in Georgia. Pay it Forward Scholarships is the largest, most effective and efficient scholarship organization in Georgia that distributes scholarships on an equal basis.
In 2025, Pay it Forward Scholarships has access to $120 million dollars in Qualified Education Expense Tax Credits to distribute to Georgia taxpayers who donate a scholarship to any private Pre-K through 12 school of their choice in Georgia. Taxpayers will receive a dollar-for-dollar Georgia Qualified Education Expense Tax Credit and can claim the donation as a federal charitable deduction.
